Washington Park
Excellent for: Students, families, and dog owners
Are you torn between staying in the suburbs of Denver? Well, Washington Park might be a great compromise! Situated in the southern half of Denver city, the area is relatively quiet, with many townhomes and single-family homes. Washington Park is a relatively peaceful and safe place close to restaurants and bars on the nearby South Broadway stretch in Baker. The proximity to Washington Park is a great attraction for most people. Here, you’ll get to explore miles of biking trails, basketball and tennis courts, lakes, volleyball nets, and most of all, you’ll enjoy loads of green space with gorgeous leafy streets. The downside of this place is that there are a few bars, shopping spots, and restaurants, although there are options nearby where you’ll probably require a bike or car.
Park Hill
Excellent for: Families, both small and large
Park Hill is one of Denver’s largest and oldest neighborhoods. Located west of City Park, Park Hill offers many single-family homes along its tree-lined streets, giving it a sub-urban touch and feel. If you’re worried about your children’s schooling, the schools in the area feature well-rated school districts which offer high scores according to Colorado’s performance framework results. A great pro of the Park Hill neighborhood is the presence of large homes with yards and lots of space. However, Park Hill is a bit far from the city’s center.
City Park
Excellent for: Young professionals, dog owners
If you’re a young professional or a dog owner who needs to spend a lot of time outdoors, then City Park is a great neighborhood for you. A few minutes away from Denver’s most famous parks: City Park and Cheeseman Park, you’ll have places to take your dog for a walk and have fun outdoor activities. There are also several bars, eateries, and restaurants, including the Olive and Finch restaurant and The Thin Man bar.
The home value in the City Park area is considerably more affordable, and the open space with lots of greenery creates a tranquil environment. In addition, the City Park neighborhood is close to downtown, making it convenient to access any services you may need. However, the downside of this place is the presence of frequent ambulance sounds due to the presence of St. Joseph’s hospital complex.
Cherry Creek
Excellent for: Families
One of Denver’s most desirable neighborhoods is Cherry Creek. The Cherry Creek neighborhood is well-known for its upscale dining and shopping destinations, the famous spot being the high-end Cherry Creek shopping center. The area features a plethora of restaurants, art galleries, cafes, and boutiques just outside Cherry Creek shopping center. You’ll find large, beautiful homes, but they vary in style, price, and size. If you’re looking for a luxurious, elite vibe with a unique upscale dining experience and shopping destinations, this is a great place to live.
Sloan’s Lake
Perfect for: Outdoorsy types and dog owners
With various housing options, safety, solid breweries, grocery stores, and restaurants, Sloan’s Lake is an excellent neighborhood. Apart from offering gorgeous views of the east of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains in the west, Sloan’s Lake offers proximity to Denver’s major thoroughfares, making it convenient and easy to access the town. Sloan’s Lake offers all you need, whether you’re looking for townhomes, Tudor homes, duplexes, or contemporary remodels. You’ll enjoy great biking and running trails along Sloan’s Lake Park. Keep in mind that this is a desirable area, making it a bit pricier.
